My wife and I are at a dance recital at our kids school. She is uncomfortable with me filming in 360.

For me it doesn't feel weird, but I can see her point. I'd be filming everyone, not just our kids, and I suppose that changes it a bit.

What are your feelings on this? Is a 360 degree camera that different from the other parents filming?

I'd say if you get permission to do it, go for it.

But I'd feel weird being recorded not knowing it.. Especially at a children's recital...

I won't care about being recorded, it happens all the time without noticing, but these days you see that anyone with a drone/camera/phone is being sued as pedophile or stalker I think it might be a good idea to do it.

If you're mindful of the others around you, I say go for it. And don't miss experiencing the moment yourself by getting too bogged down it trying to capture the moment.
