My solution is a fairly weird one, @mick0978 - I build all my scenes in Unity and then use an asset called VR Panorama 360 pro to render it all. I don't usually use the stereoscopic mod, but it has it.

I made a couple for Fiverr clients just to test the process:

Thanks for the shout @pkcable, fwiw, I do everything through game engines for rendering - but if you are using Blender, there is a VR port for their game engine. And this article might help
