Will VR take us into space?

Do you think at some point we will be able to use virtual reality to allow people to go into outer space? I understand how expensive that'd be to do, but how cool would that be to see Jupiter or Mars up close?

You already can!

I saw 3 or 4 games in the Summer Steam sale that are just space exploration simulators, I bought a couple, if they are really good I'll share the links!

I'm going to be playing the Apollo 11 simulation this weekend.

well some games with VR will just dream for people who like space(like me ) no man's sky will launch at 9 august, and Star Citizen next year. And cant remember but NASA announced vr application about Mars?

I know NASA has an AR experience they are working on with Microsoft.
