Hello there, I am new to the VR world. I wanted to know if all VR systems will be headsets? I grew up watching Star Trek and loved the Holodeck, is there a possibility that we could have something more like this in the near future?

Yes there already exists more elaborate systems, and have for some time. Any visit to Disney land or world (or any MAJOR amusement park) will expose you to several VR rides. And often VR attractions and systems are used in arcades and special restaurants/clubs such as Dave and Busters or Jillians. These have actually existed since the 70ies and 80ies. Originally called sims or simulators, these systems have been around for a long time. They were used for pilot training and demonstration, but in the 1980ies became popular at arcades and amusement parks. Anyone for Battle Mechs?

I'm sure the future will have some great VR setups for us. No headset necessary, no screens necessary...

I'm sure the glasses will become smaller and less obtrusive also. Google's project glass is/was a step in that direction, although NOT technically VR.
