The first thing that comes to mind for me would be some sort of multi-player games. I get the sense that that's not entirely the point, but the only scenarios I can come up with involve some sort of game-like component, like working together to create something or thinktank something or teach something. They're all pretty goal-oriented. Are there any "social experience" projects underway?

Multiplayer games are a big thing, but really just being in the same "room" is a great example. The folks working on Altspace VR have a great setup, where these virtual rooms exist for people to get together and either talk or play small games. It's a fantastic way to meet people virtually.

The best part about Altspace is that they have a Windows and Mac client. You can see how the avatars work in a 2D window before you jump into 3D.

Think of it like a social network/chat app, but in 3D space.

vTime & Altspace handle this slightly differently (vTime has groups up to 4 people, for instance)
