Just want to know some things you can do with VR headsets which make them worth the investment.

For me it's having new ways to create. All of the cool painting, modeling and movie-making programs like Kingspray Graffiti Simulator, Google TiltBrush, Oculus Medium, and Mindshow just blow me away.

If you're a gamer there are some cool and awesome games in VR. Other than that, the exploring apps are cool and keeps you occupied for awhile and amused. Some museums have VR apps that you can go through the museum.

As a pretty big gamer myself, one of the more exciting things about VR is being able to feel like you're 'really there'. Even more so when some of my favorite franchises incorporate VR into their games

I became more persuaded with VR when, during the Google cardboard demo, I flew with the seagulls. The effect was pretty cool. I think for gaming and such VR is going to be very compelling.

I'm a big fan of 360 degree photos. Apps that shoot panoramas and full dome 360 photos are around, plus sites like 360 Cities are amazing in my Gear VR.

I can't draw worth a damn, but watching others create is mesmerizing.

Gear VR's cinema mode is great for a road trip if you're not the one driving. Otherwise, gaming without sitting for hours on the couch is the biggest perk for me.

One of the coolest things about VR is that it gives the immersion of actually being in a fictional/fantasy world.

The immersion experience in VR makes it a great way to take you to places and experience things you'd like to easily. As mentioned, it could place you in the audience of a live (or recorded) concert. I know there are groups that don't tour around my area (or are way too expensive) that I'd love to see live. Or I'd like to tour a foreign land, learn to fly, and so on whenever I want all from the comfort of my home.

There is one on Steam called Soundstage. I have it and it's room scale. You can import .wav, .mp3, and .ogg files as samples.

Here's a link to a demo on YouTube:
