Folks,

What are the biggest disadvatages of most VR systems? I started/asked in another thread about motion sickness so obviously that is an issue. Also my particular model does not have a strap to attach the device to your face, which is a problem. I realize many do. What else can you think of?

One of my reservations is that the LG can only be used with LG devices, I think Samsung's are limited to their own too (I can very well be wrong).

I know they all require a secondary device either a PC in the case of the Oculus and HTC Vibe, or a phone in the case of most of the others. To my knowledge there are no stand alone VR device. Except for VERY expensive immersive systems used in arcades and amusement parks.

That's true of units designed for phones, and a lot of that comes down to placement/orientation of the micro USB port. Of course, with Google's "Daydream" and reversible USB Type-C connectors, this may become less of an issue as time goes on.

There ARE some Android based "wireless" VR units out there. I tried the Omimo Uranus One, and it was severely lacking. But technically it IS a stand alone VR device. There ARE others out there, but I haven't tried them...
