I'm asking this 'cause I think the VR experiences aren't as democratic as should be (even when we can make a viewer with a pizza box we still need a mid - high range smartphone).

Do you recommend to invest in this new branch?

Depends on what you mean by 'invest'. Well to be fair decent gaming on eg a PC requires some minimum specs as well, and that too doesnt come cheap. If youre just looking to experience VR in the entry level, Cardboard is perfect and you probably have a phone that could get the job done (might or might not do it well). Obv it couldnt compare to higher tier experiences, but it could give you a glimpse into what is possible, and if you see it promising you could always upgrade

I say it all depends because for example, some people don't really need to buy anything less other than the VR headset, since they already have and needed good hardware either on their phone or pc for work, like engineers and architects that use 3D modeling or people that work with video editing and animation. So those people would only be "investing" in the VR headset and at the same time they could incorporate the VR experience so to show off their projects in virtual space, before the project is actually down, and that could motivate clients to buy their home on their projects.

Mid range devices will have the minimum specs in a year, entry level devices will have them in two. VR is here to stay IMHO. Now, early adopter, as usually, get the short end of the deal.
