Yes, when you are in the Vive you have access to the Steam interface from any game. It's quite well integrated.
We'll have to try some Hover Junkers! =)
This is very simple and clever marketing on their part. I've already had a friend pop in and ask me over steam chat how VR was, and of course I told him it was amazing because it is.
Doesn't bother me - the more people that get in on this thing, the better everything about it will get.
