    Hey Vive and Rift fans!

    Looks like the Rift's play area is very short compared with the ViVE, those guys at HTC/Steam did pretty well from the beginning.

    Do either of these things have the ability to know what's in the room. For example, a couch. Could they keep you from running into it?

    Hi, welcome to the Forum, the sensors are not meant to do that exactly, you suppose to have the area clear of objects in order to play in that place of the room, but it's something that can be added by a software upgrade I think.

    The vive has the built in chaperon system which address this as well as having the pass through camera which allows you to see what is in front of you in the real world. Seems like one area where the vive stands out as the oculus doesn't have as much future for these kind of features.
