Can any new HTC phone be used with VR ?
I don't know about the HTC U Ultra but the 10 only works with Google cardboard, it's not daydream compatible, I believe.

    AMD? What do you mean?

    Cheers
AMD is Advanced Micro Devices, they are a chipset maker like Intel. Basically when you buy a computer or computerized component it will EITHER have Intel or AMD chips as its main CPU. YES there are others! BUT Intel and AMD are the Hertz and Avis of the chip world! lol

Another option is to use a Gear VR or Cardboard in conjunction with a PC by using Riftcat and VRidge to play SteamVR, Oculus, and Riftcat games. So far I haven't gotten it to work with Gear VR but it works fine with a Cardboard setup. I'd like to figure out how to use a controller but the keyboard is okay. The interference from Bluetooth probably does get in the way but at least I know my computer gets by with its reasonable but barely minimum specs.

Goggle Daydream is the best value for money at the momet supports few ready devices on the market, and these are Google Pixel / Google Pixel XL, Moto Z / Moto Z Force, Huawei Mate 9 Pro / Huawei Porsche Design Mate 9, ZTE Axon 7 & Asus Zenfone AR. Google says that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will soon support Daydream, which signals that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8 could include compatibility also. Meanwhile, Google’s upcoming second generation Pixel devices will almost certainly be Daydream compatible.

Daydream is an excellent mobile based solution. For those not looking for a highend Pc based system.

I have been surprised lately that having both the Rift and Vive, I use the Rift more often. I find the headset a bit more comfortable for long periods and I definitely prefer the controllers. I would like to invest in a third sensor, though, to get the full room scale experience.
