NASA has been using the power of virtual reality for years but the result can be seen only after the partnership with above mentioned VR device manufacturers. NASA educates its cosmonauts for operations using VR devices.

Jeff Norris who is the lead of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory told Digital Trends that due to VR technologies NASAs cosmonauts are able to walk and investigate the Space and that these techs brings the chance that NASA hadnt. In addition to this when Sony announced about Morpheus project in that pre-release period Norris was able to test over Robonaut 2 which is a human robot created by NASA.

NASA has used Hololens AR glasses during Sidekick project back in 2015. Norris added that they eager to use various VR technologies as each of them has its unique feature from which can avail NASA.

Starting from September 8 in 2016 Manus VR and NASA are co-operating. According to Manus VR press release the VR gloves produced by them are utilizing in by NASA worker during various experiments.

Utilizing the power of virtual reality also AR NASA will investigate Mars in 2030. VR is making able the cosmonauts visit Mars and feel what it is like to be on Mars. Jeff Norris claimed that his group is included in the exploration of Mars and thanks environments created by VR techs allowing cosmonauts to stand on Mars and to know what its like to be there.

NASAs Mars 2030 Experience mainly focused on sharing that experience with society, which would be released on different VR helmets such as VR Gear, Cardboard, Oculus also on Play Stores but there is no info about the launch date.
