well, it's understandable that they want to get money for it, it's Game, they want to bleed you dry. Also, it makes it so only people who genuinely want to buy the thing get to try it, instead random people with in intention of buying it stuffing the lines. I guess it will be like that for a while, until it's not new any more, and then they will make it free. Call it early adopter fee.
Now, I don't agree with it, and I feel that if other places set up demos that don't require paying to try them, Game will be forced to change their ways. It's their loss, really. People won't buy if they can't try, and they won't try if they need to pay for it, at least not in the same numbers.
