
Back in 2014 when Facebook bought the startup of Kickstarter paying $2 billion it rose doubts and confusion about the success of this project.
But the negative forecasts was wrong and Oculus has succeeded by gaining major popularity among people. During F8 San Francisco conference in April 2016 Zuckerberg represented their Social VR prototype, which now has developed greatly.
During the event In San Jose 2016, Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated his company’s latest social VR prototype on stage at Oculus Connect 2016. During this prototype comparing the prototype of F8 event users are able to make calls from virtual world to reality using messenger. Visit various places with friends and what is the most exciting take selfies in virtual world and share them on Facebook wall.

During Oculus Connect Zuckerberg announced about creating a new VR helmet which would be standalone and wouldn’t demand complex set up to a computer or even demand a mobile phone to experience virtual world. Facebook is going to improve the whole VR platform on the whole.
On 12th of October, Mike Schroepfer posted on his Facebook profile that in the event Mark Zuckerberg showed the perspectives of the computing, which lets people to visit the places as well as do activities they always wanted to do.
The Social VR team of Facebook is welcoming designers, developers and those who have ambitions to join their team to develop the prototypes demonstrated during the Oculus Connect 2016.
Those who followed the conference have seen the new avatars, video calling opportunity. This demos were only the first steps of Facebook team which are formed by talented designers and engineers as well.
The Facebook team aims to develop VR social interaction rather than gaming platform. They want to create the first significant social interaction platform in VR ecosystem.
