Hi. I'm on very limited data and was wondering when an app is bought and downloaded, does that store on the phone, and useable when wanted again offline,or do you need to go online again?

It really depends on the app. Most of the time if it's a game then it shouldn't need more data. Some of them do use a connection to play online but if you don't log on to the multiplayer it shouldn't use your data.

Now something like Netflix will use ALL your Data. It streams the episodes into your phone using your data if you are not connected to your Wifi.

Thanks for that James. I think I'm slowly getting my head around it. Can I download games or movies to my pc then transfer to my phone and back again after use?

What phone do you have? For movies definitely for apps it’s a little more difficult BUT if you are on Android it can be done.

Ok to sideload APK files you will need to first turn on that ability in Android, swipe down then click on the gear icon, then go to lock screen and security, scroll down and find Unknown Sources, toggle it on (accept the disclaimer also). THEN you must find APK files. APK Mirror is a good source. You would then download the APK file for the program you want (keep it legal and ONLY get free ones ) to your PC or Mac, THEN connect your S8 to the computer and transfer over the files. Your computer SHOULD be able to treat the S8 like a thumb drive. THEN once the APK files are on your device you would use My Files (the Samsung file app) to find them and run them to install the apps.

Honestly though your best bet is to stick to the play store and the samsung store for your s8. You can download the apps from your phone using wifi as opposed to data and uninstalling them using no data at all.
