I'm still not sure if google has the right approach to VR . A standalone device probably would make more sense, provided it is cheap enough. I'm still not sold on VR as yet

Well yes even Galaxy S6 which has 577 ppi display shows pixelation. I think it's normal to see screen door effect on most smartphones today.
What about the build quality? What about the weight? Is it heavy or light?
Is it comfortable? Outer layer is made of fabric.
