I have my Vive connected to my PC via Display port as I have hdmi from gpu connected to TV.
I updated my driver and then found I had no display on TV. I even tried connecting hdmi to my motherboard hdmi and still had no display.
It turns out my display for windows was on my VR headset only. Well a small part of the screen at least.
I had to disconnect my display port cable from gpu. Removing power cable from link box wasn't enough.
It's possible this happened because I did a clean install of gpu driver but in the future I will remove display cable to prevent future panic's.

Any experience of this issue anyone?

I only have one monitor plugged in when I see the Radeon software update notification. Just easier when I have one, as I know it won't break. Just years of having weird monitor setups.

A common problem with multiple display's then. Fair enough lesson learned.

I keep reading about this problem, but have yet to encounter this for myself. So strange

I haven't experienced this yet either. I usually unplug my Vive when I'm finished with it so that probably explains why.
