It has been a couple months since Facebook launched their desktop gaming solution, Gameroom. will it add VR soon?

I was giving it a look and wonder if they will add VR support soon. It seems to be a natural extension considering their heavy investments in VR.

...or it could be just another flash in the pan, and this time next year nobody will know what Gameroom was. =)

    What do you think?

That's a good question. It'd be nice if they ported that to VR. It'd also be nice if they opened native livestreaming up to other sites than just Facebook, but I can understand the business decision there.

It'll definitely be something to watch, imo.

I think its possible some titles will be playable in Rooms on Gear VR or Rift, but honestly, I doubt it. They are very much for pushing the envelope on whats possible - and playing a 2d game isn't really that - although Oculus Arcade exists.... Sooooo. Maybe?

If it is not a huge effort on their part to implement it, I think they would probably do it. It might be a (or one of the many) way to stay ahead of other social networks.

I honestly still don't get why Facebook payed 2 billion dollars for Oculus. Is it a financial interest only?

I think that it will be convergent at some point between the FB site and Oculus. That's too big of a market to ignore.

I'm still waiting for that Skype like VR app. One that everyone can use, not just us tech geeks

I think if they want to make "Gameroom" the best it can be, adding VR support would definitely be the most logical step forward. As you said @EgoAnt, Facebook has invested a lot in VR support so I'm sure they will add it in Additionally, the word 'gamer' is right in there and they love VR haha.
