I would like to know if it's possible to take old music video and concerts and transform the into VR format? Or is that not possible and anything that will be for VR format needs to be shot with a panorama camera, so does that mean that this type of video will only be limited to the newer performers and artists and older artists for example Pink Floyd, who see the benefit of shooting concerts, as I don't expect them to produce anymore music videos, is that the case? Thanks for any explanation.

If they could do this in 180 stereoscopic format I would be happy enough. Probably not possible but I can dream they find a way to do it post process. Not sure if that's the correct term.
Pink Floyd concert in 3D yes please.

I didn't even know about that concert, should say film, than again I was only 7 years old when they did it, looks like it would be spectactular in 3D! Who knows maybe they might consider another concert there again in the future and this time record it for VR. Oh found it here if anyone wants to watch http://www.veoh.com/watch/e73060jK5E6hmX

Nobody has responded to me, but well, it would be great to see videos of Opus or Queen in VR, good old times with current technology, would be amazing

1 question though: why would you want to watch concerts in 360? Isn't concert basically watching forwardly? We are among the audience watching straight ahead at the performer. Why 360?

I guess there is no way to turn old videos into 360 format. But is there a way to turn it into 3D format?

Yes it can be done...a movie costs about$15 million. Music video should be much less but it would still be a significant cost.

Good find! That's some serious coin though. You never know one day they might find a more cost effective way.

Yeah conversions are still in its infancy, but hopefully as technology progresses, that there would be cheaper ways to convert content
