It depends on the child and VR experience. As long as the gear fits and they are comfortable and aware of how to play - you are good to go. But be very careful what games they play (harrasment and violence can feele ultra realistic)
Is there any risk to visual development that anyone knows?
Yes, I am concerned about the screen and their eye site development as well but then again, I come from the generation that had it drilled into our heads that, "if you sit too close to the TV, you'll lose your eye site!" Lol
Looking at screens, no matter if its a tv or Laptop or Smartphone or VR is not likely to harm your eyesight, nor that of children. Theres no possible damage to ur retina or other parts of ur eyes.
I wonder how long a child can use a VR set before it becomes unsafe, or would it become unsafe. I have no knowledge of any ill effects but thought someone else more informed on such topics would know out have useful info or tips. TIA
What about the weight of the group, is it safe for a child, I mean, it feels heavy on mine, idk if a toddlers neck can support it
It's all about moderation, obviously if you let your 6 or 7 year olds use the VR for an hour or so then there is a danger to their eyesight etc. but 5 or 10 minutes at a time once a day isn't going to do any damage IMO.
Combined for best answer!
I would wait they are at least 10 so as to not interfere anything developmentally but that's just my opinion
the only concern is time of use. for kids it may be too heavy to put itt on the head. so if using try to give it to him for short periods of time. furthermore, i would suggest to make some physical exercises to strengthen the back muscles and neck.
