Project Rascals: A New Concept Just for VR-rascalsheader.jpg

Please let me informally introduce Rascals, a board shooter in VR. The concept is pretty simple: It plays like any other board game, where you move your pieces between squares based on AP you score on dice, trying to reach goal. The twist is that you can control your pieces in first person, where you get to hit, shoot and explode your opponents' pieces. This stuns them, temporarily removing them from play, or kills them, returning them to start. You can play single player at any skill level you like, or play it as a party game with your friends.

We're still at the pre-alpha stage, and a lot of stuff is very place holder. We have yet to build a menu (dashboard style), and there is a myriad of little details to iron out, but we're starting to see what the game might become, and it's looking good :-) There may or may not be network support, depending on demand.

Click here for more info about the game. There is also a bit of an in-depth look at the design process in the dev notes.

We're very excited to hear what the VR community thinks of this idea and how you would like to see it done, so please let us know itt.

    Thanks :-)

Alpha development is happening in Steam VR, but there will be an Oculus native build as well. We have also discussed the idea of PSVR, since I believe this game in particular is well suited to that platform, but that's very much up in the air.
