Hi everyone, just joined this forum and I need advice on headphones. I have a pair of Beyer headphones which have a 6.5mm jack and although there are adapters on the market to convert to 3.5,when the s7 phone is placed in the gear vr, the space for the jack seems smaller. Has anyone bought an adapter that works ok?

Hello Phil and welcome to the VR Heads forums!

I do not have a Gear VR but having a Google Cardboard, I can see how cumbersome using a 6.5mm to 3.5mm cable adapter. That being said, I sent word to others who have a Gear VR to help out

    See you among the forums!

With 6.5mm headphones, the best thing to do is get a 3.5mm extension cord then use a 6.5 to 3.5 adapter. Those adapters are so big that they will put the weight of the headset off balance, but if they are off the face, it's not so bad.

Yeah. That. The only cable I could use is the one that came with my Skullcandy headphones because the diameter of it is small. I tried other cables I have, but none would fit well.

    This might work for you:

Audeze 6.5mm to 3.5mm Adapter Cable · Sound Fidelity

But if you can go to a Electronic store to request a cable with the female 6.5 and the male 3.5 it should do the work

It will look more or less like the picture which is linked from the Audeze model which is pretty pricey for me.

If by any chance you are in Latin America I can guide you on how to do it if you know how to use a Soldering Iron because it's pretty easy.
