Will project tango support VR?

I'm wondering since a say a demo of it but they were using the table version. Tango seems that it would take a lot of processing to be able to map out your room to be able to play a VR game in it

As PK pointed it's more for AR than VR, BUT the device which is able to do AR is also able to handle some VR.

There are some obstacles, I can mention that the Lenovo Phap Pro 2 (which is the only commercial device for the Project Tango) is a HUGE smartphone and not so powerful to be considered Daydream Compatible, it might handle some cardboard VR apps, but you have to be aware that the massive 6.4 inches screen a requires Cardboard suitable for that size of devices and aren't as common and the regular 4 to 5.5 inches.
