Sony will finally be releasing their Platinum Wireless headset.

It is similar setup to the Gold Wireless headset but with the inclusion of their proprietary 3D audio technology. Sony confirm games will be receiving updates to take advantage of this new audio format. Uncharted 4 will be among the first games to support 3D audio.

But will it work with the psvr. My understanding is that the psvr does not work with wireless headphones since then audio processing unit does not support wireless tech.

Is the Playstation going to start handling 3d audio processing now or is this a task that the headphones are going to process. Afterall virtually every stereo headphone out there can handle 3d audio.

    Edit:
Just saw that it uses an adapter to process 3d audio.

    Correct good sir.

As with the Sony Gold Wireless headset, there is a 3.5mm cable that needs to be used with the PSVR.

$200 CAD?! Is it just me, or is that a bit steep?

200CAD sounds right on point for those kinds of headphones. I mean Beats Solo 3 headphones are 299USD.

Premium headphones cost 300-400 US. Just look up Bose QC35s, or V-Moda Crossfades M100 Wireless.

The sony's are actually cheap! lol

I've used this with VR at a Game Stop demo. These are perfect for VR!
