With VR becoming the future of gaming, watching movies, travel, possibly dating, etc. Do you think that it will have a negative effect on vision?

Well it certainly possible. Prolonged VR use CAN cause eye strain and this CAN lead to trouble, BUT with limited use, and with breaks while using you should be ok. If you think you may be having any issue check with medical personnel.
