Has Google announced when the next gen Google Cardboard is coming out? I like it a lot but I am on my third one already because I keep spilling drinks on them. It'd be nice for them to make one that is not made out of cardboard.

If you pop the lens out you can paint your cardboard with clean coat automotive paint. That should water proof it for you.

I use a third party plastic cardboard, mostly because the temple of my eye glasses doesn't really fit in the regular cardboard. I have this one: RITECH Riem III VR 3D Glasses-10.63 Online Shopping| GearBest.com which works well over my glasses. There is also the plastic ones from viewmaster and some other vendor.
