I have had my gear vr 2016 now for a few days and up until today in all the apps or Samsung internet I have been able to select the microphone icon and say what I've wanted to search for instead of typing it. Today it has stoped working. I can still use it for "ok oculus" but not in any app on the gear vr. Is anyone else experiencing this and know a way of fixing it?

I've found the problem. If you deactivate the "ok oculus" speech then the voice search in all the other apps then work. Maybe both will work together in the future.
