So I got my Vive two days ago, it was a big deal because I was saving for this for almost a year now. I was so excited to un-box and set everything up.

I plugged everything in (correctly) and hopped into the Steam VR home. What I was not expecting was my controllers and my view flying around everywhere periodically.

This made VR unbearable, I was constantly getting nauseous and could not get emerged due to the flying controllers.

I thought this was an easy fix, so I went to many help threads and Did the following.

    1. Firmware updated everything
    2. Re-adjusted base stations
    3. Clean the base stations
    4. Put a towel over my mirror
    5. Re-Calibrated my room
    6. Un-installed and Re-installed SteamVR
    7. Reset my controllers
    8. Switched all the USB ports from 3.0 to 2.0 and back

All of these didn't work, however I did notice while staring and facing at on base station everything worked fine, but staring at the other made my view and controllers fly everywhere. I am desperate for some help as I am very new to VR and I am depressed that I spent a year saving for something that doesn't work

I have a Room-Scale setup ( my room is barely big enough for room scale)
    i7 - 7700 @ 3.60Ghz Running a NVIDIA GTX 1060 6gb (no steamvr frame drops detected)
I can send a picture of my setup and some game play if need be

Thank you so much for helping a new VR user!

That could happen with any HMD even without controllers, the only recommendation I can provide you is the following:

Move the base stations to a position where all the posible angles are covered, imaging it as cameras and you need to be in the field of view of both.

If you can perfectly move and track when both the controllers and the headset are looking in front of you you might need to set a base station almost on the back of your room.
