I am interested in buying an HTC Vive. The only thing is that I use an iMac that meets the requirements except for the GPU.
Would it be possible to run the headset with an eGPU connected to the Thunderbolt port ? Would it be cheaper than a custom made PC ?

Interesting in theory, but I'm not sure if you could get it to work. Wouldn't you need drivers for the GPU which wouldn't exist? You MIGHT be able to do it via bootcamp and a dual boot to windows but I still have my doubts.

Try it and let us know.

I would run Windows on the iMac. I'll take a look into this. Thanks for the advice.
