So I got a Sarlar VR Glass headset for my wife off Amazon for her iPhone. She had to switch to it due to the whole Note 7 debacle and has been sad about no more access to the Gear VR. Unfortunately, I had to pick and order a headset in a hurry to try and get it under the tree for Christmas. So I didn't do my due diligence.

    This headset has no buttons.

Not too big a deal if she only goes with gaze-based apps (or ones that have support for the magnet trigger; I have a magnet ring she can use), but still annoying.

Outside of the lack of a button, it's pretty good. Good quality, definitely holds the phone securely, adjustable IPD, etc. I think she's pretty happy with it, which leads me to my next question.

Any recommendations for apps that work well without a button? Please avoid horror or known motion sickness-inducing apps (especially roller coasters!).

Well for sure she should try YouTube's VR and 360 degree videos. Also Titans of Space was nice and had a good self driving mode last I tried it

JauntVR should work well also as it has a stare to select mode.

Good points, both of you. I was never a fan of Jaunt's interface, but she might like it better than I did. She's done Titans of Space before, but it's still a good suggestion.

Discovery had some beautiful stuff, within vr hq but short, youtube 360 probably most obvious. Some neat 360 videos if you look, as for game not many i know and even less without button. First one my kid wanted to play was goosebump.
