For me the 'Regular Pixel' in the 128 GB variant is the winner. The XL version if feel is just too big for hold. Im sure it would be great for videos and gaming but for just day to day stuff. Its rather big in the pocket.

Absolutely quote. I don't know why if consumer keep pushing they want smaller phone all OEM still produce bigger and bigger devices...

I like bigger phones so it would have to be a Pixel XL for me. I don't think the slightly lower ppi should make much of a difference...

Will this reflection thing be a huge issue? I keep reading about it everywhere but what if you are a in a dark setting? Will it matter then?

I am on this, the second game for the pixel and pixel XL, I have found. I couldn't make a decision and am on a very low budget. I would want the best phone that's affordable and nothing along the lines of extravagance. Which phone cost the most and least and will last the longest for the money I'll put up for the phone?

As far as I know, from a VR point of you, the bigger the screen, the better immersion you get. I have the cardboard boboVR and eg my nexus 5 is not as good as the LG V10. Personally I would go for the Pixel XL. Although I'd love to hear from somebody who actually tried both phones (pixel and pixel xl) with the daydream view, to tell us if there are actually any differences.

I don't think it will matter much when using daydream. Get the one that is the size you like for daily use as a phone/smart device. If you like the 5" size better but get the XL for daydream I think you will regret it and get tired of dealing with the size of the XL. But if you are used to big phones and like that size and don't mind using them daily, then get the XL. Personally for me the 5" pixel is the right size for my hands and pockets and the 1080p screen will be better for the battery in my opinion.

Obviously the Pixel XL coz y not? When they both have the same internal specs. 1440p screen and larger battery is a good choice to go irrespective of its value.
On the storage part, it is a bummer. I expected a 64B & 128GB but 32GB and 128GB is not fair.

It was mentioned earlier in brief, but if you're getting a Pixel primarily for VR, go with a black color so that there's no chance you'll see anything but the display when in Daydream View.

Still can't decide. Looking at some comparision photos, the Pixel is smaller than the Nexus 5x (which is fine with me) and the Pixel XL is slightly larger than the 5x and smaller than the 6p. Not sure if the size will be an issue until I see them in person.
Anyone know if all Best Buy's have them to view or just select few? If only a few, how to find out which one?

I'll go for the Pixel XL in terms of screen resolution it can produce on the Daydream VR.

Will definitely go for the larger XL. Im still using my Galaxy S6 but battery life is really average and 5,1 screen size is too small for me. I dont think the Pixel gets you through the day with just 2770 mah

Quite black Pixel (128gb for me) is the best choice !

Since the viewing angle seems to adjust automatically in a daydream headset I'd think the pixel density would not be trivial if VR immersion is one of the most important factors in your phone purchase. For me it's screen size, so I'd get the XL anyways, but for many other people pocketability or one-handed operation are just as important. Remember, even if you adore VR and use it every day 80% or more of your phone interactions will still be as a phone rather than a VR device, so be sure to get the size that you want to carry around with you all the time.

    For VR, definitely pixel xl.
But for mobile gaming , go for the pixel, its 1080 p screen is still crisp af and will give better graphics performance and battery life.

Also if an entertainment freak go for pixel xl. That 1440 amoled panel is gorgeous
