Out of curiosity, has anyone tried the Daydream View on a Moto Z yet? If so, does the phone run hot like some other VR headsets? I'm considering picking one up while Google's price drop is in effect.

There were some initial performance issues, but almost all of those apps have been updated now. In a vast majority of Daydream apps, the experience is identical to the Google Pixels.

I have been using a Moto Z with Daydream for two weeks very successfully. It lasts about three hours playing Netflix films/serials but does not cut out due to overheating. It does get hot, I measure the battery temperature to be approx 50C. Very impressed with it.

50°C (130°F)?!?! Wow... I freak out when my battery alarm app warns me at 41°C (105°F). I wouldn't recommend running your phone at 50°C at all, your non-removable battery isn't going to serve you well in the near future.

3 hours is a LONG LONG time for VR, I would never go that long without a break! And I have a Pixel.
