Folks,

Although I am the Google Daydream View Champion here, and I still love it, I recently bought both a Samsung S8 (already have) and a 2017 Gear VR with controller. (coming Thursday) It is my ultimate goal to use the S8 with both the Daydream AND the Gear VR, and to compare and contrast. I will also then be able to say I have tried 3 different phones on my Daydream.

Anyone have any tips for me, OR want me to check anything specifically? I will have both devices, although I can't use the S8 with the Daydream quite yet, BUT I do have a Moto Z for it. Just let me know.

I used Gear VR once, and it didn't feel significantly better than cardboard. I think there is partly what pushed me to get a Rift.

Not sure what experiences you tried, but they are night and day - as is Gear VR to Rift/Vive

I have used Cardboard, Daydream, Gear VR, HTC Vive AND Oculus Rift! Cardboard is ok, and a good starter, it gives you an idea of what VR is going to be like, and shows the potential. Daydream and Gear VR are MUCH better, BUT not in the league of HTC Vive and Oculus Rift! It's like Good, better, and best! Of course good cost free or less than 50 dollars, better costs around 100 dollars, and best, well now you are talking serious money 600-800 PLUS the cost of the PC you need because your PC probably isn't powerful enough, lol!
