    It will cost approx $1000 to purchase the Vive and have it shipped to Australia. That's a lot of money. Should I wait it out for it to be released in Australia or just purchase it now and bear the $200 shipping cost?

    How much do you want it? This is a question you need to decide. Can you wait another month or two, or three for the release in your Country, OR must you have it now? Keep in mind also that international shipping is not the fastest thing in the world, it's at BEST going to take a few weeks and maybe longer for the shipping. When I get stuff from China for example often shipping is approx. a month!

    Can you travel instead to Singapore? I think they might have it there.
    I mean Singapore is not far from Aussie. Will the tickets cost above 200$?

    Unless the retailer says they will deal with returns or repairs for you I wouldn't. I got one from the US and I live in the UK. If you need something repaired under warranty you will be out of luck as they won't pick it up from Australia or send it back to Australia. You would need a go between in the region you got it from. Costly I imagine.

    I think you should wait as VirtuaTyKing said, with that money you may buy an all-in-one VR headset (truly cheap) in GearBest.com http://m.gearbest.com/all-in-one-vr-_gear/

    And I think the shipment will be free.

    Not the same experience but something to start.
