So im getting an HTC One M8 in about a week cause they are pretty good phones and i found em on amazon for 160$ (A lot cheaper than usual) and i love anything HTC makes its an amazing company BUT i'm wondering if the Vive will with the M8 so can anyone help me out with this

Vive is a totally different Platform

You can use the M8 to send notifications to the Vive, but you still need a gaming desktop to power the headset itself.

well they shouldve tested the battery to make sure it wouldnt kaboom but they didnt so it was a bad idea
