Be sure to let us know how the phone is, then! I can't get it yet (no room for more devices right now on the family plan), but if that changes, I most likely will get the S8+.

I do believe you are correct. The controller is being sold by itself as well as with the HMD, and per the article Russell Holly wrote, compatible with all phones that are compatible with the black HMD. Which would mean basically all current Gear VR devices, I think. Unless the Note 4 isn't compatible.

I just read something that was a little "off" on the website the promotion for the free gear VR goes from 30 Mar 2017- 20 April 2017...... If it's not released to regular stores until the 21st. How are we supposed to take advantage of it?

It's a promotion tied to pre-ordering the phone. I'm sure there'll be another promotion once it's released to stores, but for now, they're trying to encourage pre-ordering it.

Oh, good, I was wondering what the VR package was. I'm glad to hear it's a credit that can be used in the store however we want.

It all depends, I'd imagine. When my wife got her Note 5 and took advantage of the Gear VR promo, it took a good month or two. Other people, though, got theirs right away. Still others took even longer. Hopefully they've figured out the timeliness issue this time around and will get it out a lot faster and more consistently.

Fantastic promotion from Samsung, especially since its a popular line to begin with.

I expect people that aren't into VR will be looking to move the Gear VR for pretty reasonable rates after they get theirs. That's how I picked up mine.

Personally drop dead is the best game Ive played. To show off to people try the avengers battle for avenger tower experience. Ive been playing Rangi which is quite good so far.
Most recommend darknet, dreadhall, Minecraft and dead secret.

Personally to get the most of it get a bluetooth controller so you can try things like Omega Agent (get a sick bag to begin with) and Herobound

At first I was like "yes, it should be good" and now I want all the devices and to do all the things possible on VR, it's an addiction.
