Saw this article about the Daydream View VR and for those who received it before November 10th*.

It seems those that did get it early and do not have a Pixel won't be able to use it because the "Google VR Services" is not available yet and will require Android Nougat 7.0 (if I am not mistaken.).

*The date is the release date for here in Canada.

Buddy at VZW says Nougat or higher is a requirement of the Daydream services. So only 2 devices I know of are certified. V20 has Nougat, but isn't meeting criteria for the system.

Good to know. Also interesting about the V20 not meeting the criteria. Hopefully it will only be temporary.

Always nice having friends in high places (VZW)

it didn't know about the Nougat requirement. thought it was based on the processor (821 and higher) but It looks like the OnePlus 3T MIGHT be compatible with Daydream. So very exciting. The more phones compatible the better.

Unfortunately LG chose an IPS display for the V20, so it can't be compatible with Daydream. Apparently the OnePlus 3T will have an AMOLED so together with the SD821 it should be fine.

Yeah, but only a 1080p display.
