    Will Virtual Reality Transform Gaming?-vr-gaming.jpg

I just found this great article and it's a good look at how VR games are taking the gaming world by storm that is not the average gamer, from Ubisoft titles to VR Casinos to whatever tickles your fancy, the time for VR has arrived, but just don't expect the PC versions to be affordable at least not yet, in fact there is a very good chance that PSVR will out sell both Oculus Rift and Vive due to the fact that there are a lot of people who have PS4s and I'm sure Sony was banking on that fact. Lastly VR may become the norm to quote the article "In the best-selling novel Ready Player One, author Ernest Cline imagines a world in which reality is so rife with crime, overpopulation and poverty that people spend more time glued to their VR headsets as a means of escapism. Whilst the future hopefully doesn’t look that gloomy to most of us, there’s reason to believe we’re closer than we think to a world in which VR headsets are a given household commonality." I think he may be right at least the part of being a household commonality especially when it comes to Sony.

I think VR does add a new dimension to gaming but i don't think its going to 'Revolutionise' it.
I think its going to be like an Electric car to the Petrol car. Its a nice alternative to 'standard' gaming but everyone will have their preferences.

I have to agree with that, especially since a lot of the older games are probably never going to be able to be play in VR unless they are remade from ground up.

Though this is handled well in Ready Player One, where people hang out in a virtual chat room which includes a virtual arcade, in which they can play all their old games... and there already IS a multiplayer VR arcade for the classics: New Retro Arcade. So while the old games may not be the fully immersive type of VR, it may not be long before people no longer need their old physical consoles, because the VR headset will transport them to a virtual couch in front of a virtual TV, running a virtual emulator with their console games. And I think that's still pretty cool! (though it surely strains the eyes more than a conventional TV...)

Also, Oculus has the Oculus Arcade with licenced games from Namco and Warner Bros. (they own Midway's IP).

That's the thing I would want to playa game like for example Sim Copter an old Maxis 3D Copter game, in full immersive 3D I don't really see how it will differ if you are playing an old game in a virtual arcade, for me if it's going to be pretty much the same as on a console emulator I would rather play it on the console or emulator and use the time to play newer more immersive games, but that just might be me.

Well if those games are truly immersive than sure but if it's just playing an old game in a 3D arcade that's for me like playing an arcade game in a Rockstar Game like Bully or GTA

If there can be physical guns which can connect to the vr headsets, I would surely play first person shooter only with vr.

I could definitely see this being a game changer if they ever did it.., and everyone would have to clear their living room floor so they don't trip and kill themselves, lol!

I agree that everyone will have their preference, but i do think VR will have a major impact and may change the gaming world as we know it.

I would say at home AR would be much better than VR for gaming, what do you guys think?

I think AR mixed with a VR headset or something like that will be what actually make a revolution.

I know it's an old comment but remember what we talked about the big screen option, so you may be using your 2D or 3D game in a Virtual 100" screen.
