Contemplating between Pixel or Pixel XL and taking the Daydream into account. How much do you think the higher PPI will help with the XL? I've used cardboard with a Nexus 5x, which neat, the resolution and the screendoor effect was something that could have been improved upon. Will the apps that utilize Daydream be mindful of the lower PPI of the non-XL? or is the PPI of the XL still not high enough to give much of a difference?

First, thank you so much for posting a question to VR Heads. I know that I appreciateyour visit, and the community needs more people interested in this amazingtechnology. I would love for you to register and log in so that we can continuethis thread.

Toanswer your question, I would not be 100 percent sure of this until I played with them, but the XL vs regular should not make too much of a difference. The pixel density issue will be compensated by the viewing angle of the lenses. I'm telling people get the size that you want because the VR experience should not make a difference.

I'm waiting for BB or Verizon to get some sample phones in before I decide. I wan't to hold them before making a decision.

I ordered a pixel xl in silver but am a little worried about the reflection from the white front.

I'm hoping to get the Pixel XL in Black, but I dragged my feet and now it's out of stock on the Google Store. Would rather not go through Verizon for it, but I may have to resort to it. I have a Nexus 5X now and the battery life just doesn't cut it. I'm hoping the XL will get me through a day without any trouble.

I'm XL all the way, except for the price. I'm not sure if the "upgrade" is worth $120 to me.

I hear the non black pixels might be glare prone inside the VR so maybe black might be best...

I'm sure a bit of hacking to mask out the reflective surface might work. Perhaps starting with a black sock and cuttiing out a hole?

You would be much better off with the Pixel XL for the Daydream headset and in black which I pre-ordered.

...or just buy the black version of the Pixel.

Pretty sure the higher dpi on the XL will make a huge difference but it is hard to say for sure until I actually get one in my hands. In the end, unless you are only using this for VR, remember this will mostly not be in a VR headset, so size matters too.

I have a Nexus 6p now, so I would probably go with the Pixel XL. I like the larger size phones

I suggest getting the Pixel XL, the screen PPI is much better, plus it was made for the daydream

I would personally choose the Pixel XL. I'm currently using an Asus Zenfone 3. The 5.5 screen size is perfect for me.

If I buy the Pixel XL in the US and then I go to Latin America, could I use it with another mobile carrier without any problem?

I think I'd go for the smaller of the two, can just use the keyboard with my thumb on the 5x so the pixel would be just right. Have yet to try any VR headset, can't wait!

I have a Nexus 6, to me the Pixel would be too small. More so the bigger screen, and resolution makes it better for the VR, doesn't it?

I can't wait for a Pixel XL to become available for purchase. I want this phone as well as the Daydream VR since the Note 7 is no longer an option.
