Does anyone else think $79 is a great price for a headset that looks this nice? I don't know about you, but I think the fabric look is quite fetching.

    Excited for November!

If you pre-order on the Google Store, looks like you get a code for a free Daydream View.

I definitely think it's cool that they went a different route with the material. Like a comfy sock - for your face. =)

For $79 I might as well get one. Wonder if Best Buy will carry them.

Definitely interesting at $79. Curious to see if phones released in 2016 will be able to support it in the future.

So far only the Pixel's are the compatible devices, I don't think my phone will work but possible all with more than 4GB RAM, the same CPU & GPU or better will be suitable for Daydream

I know that Samsung has stated they will make Daydream compatible devices, but I don't have the reference.

Also, Recode did a Periscope stream, and they said that the fabric headsets are quality!

Good to know. Plastic isn't as comfy, but it sure is durable.

I think if anything Google was taking a direct hit at Samsung in its design and pricing of the Daydream, and i'm glad they did. Seems as if the device will be wayyyy more comfortable than the plastic Gear VR, the touch controller will be much better from control of games than the touch pad on the side of the Gear VR, and the price is also way more competitive. Daydream wins in this respect for me, and now its just a matter of how well they develop and support the Daydream platform with great content, which knowing Google, I have a good feeling they will!

I agree the fabric finish will be a lot more comfortable and hopefully be less hot thus reducing sweat... Regarding the price... $79 translates to roughly Rs 5000, which is not a small amount in India... Plus I think Google will price it higher than the US prices... Like it did with Chromecast and the Pixels... Sigh
