Just got a evo vr headset with a simple blue tooth controller. The manual says it is compatible with iOS and that some games vary in control but it is most compatible with all Icade games. But all it does is adjust the volume. Up down on the joystick adjusts volume and so does c and d buttons the a button mutes.

The control you purchased maps itself to the volume buttons, then relies on the specific game or app working to translate those presses into movement in the app. Sounds like the BT controller is not designed to use the correct BT profile. I would recommend getting a SteelSeries control for iOS.
