So I just bought the HTC Vive and realised that my 780ti has serious issues getting any stable framerate in VR games.
Since I can currently not afford a top-notch-rig, my first idea - aside from closing any background apps - was to simply turn off the screen while VR is active.
Would that boost the framerate? Is there another way or great tips for VR beginners?

Maybe buy an external GPU, they cost 200-300 dollars.
