When I look at panoramics or Cardboard photos apps in the Photos app in Daydream, the quality of the photos is really low. The photos look fine in the regular Photos app.

I submitted the original question. It is a Pixel XL. I also noticed that viewing Cardboard photos in the Cardboard app looks fine. It's just when I use the Photos app in Daydream when the photos look crappy.

Sometimes my videos look GREAT and sometimes they look like carp, and sometimes the same video does both, I think it may have something to do with the connection speed, also I think Daydream still has a few. kinks/bugs to work out.

    Hey welcome to the forum.

I don't have a cardboard nor a Daydream (please don't feel sorry, I'm ok) but something what usually happens with this devices and the way how the pictures are compressed is the load in layers, so maybe when you are opening your panoramic picture in Daydream the way it's processed is heavier than in the Cardboard so the picture is being loaded but it hasn't reach the last layer which gives it the total quality that it has in the first seconds, try to wait a little and close every other app which can be stolen resources from your phone for than moment.

    LOL.

I have a Rift, but remember you are nothing without the Fantastic 4 (Rift, ViVE, PSVR & Daydream) if only wishing were enough.

I'm pretty sure you are with me on it, we all want it all, only hope not others great HDMs appear and making the Fantastic 4 into the nineteenth rings of the Lord of the Rings

What you're seeing in Daydream is the VR mode that was meant to be captured in the Cardboard Camera app. Since there's only one camera sensor on your phone, Google is capturing twice the number of frames needed and creating a stereoscopic image. The downside, especially with early versions of this app, is that a lack of OIS in the camera means it's difficult for those two captured frames to be exactly aligned. This causes the visual jaggedness you're experiencing. You don't see this on the app without Daydream because your phone is only showing you the single frame.

I've found VR mode looks much, much nicer when taken with a tripod. That didn't help your current photos look nicer, unfortunately, but it's the only solution I've found so far.
