I normally use a standard pair of SOL Republic V10 Tracks for my gaming needs. Nice cushion, even sound quality, no bass boost.

Thanks after taking a look I might go for those. They seem to fit the bill at a reasonable price. Are they fairly light and not uncomfortably tight fitting?

They are small cans, and pretty light. Been using them as my Xbox headphones since the One came out.

Make sure you get the Android cord for it though. The default is iPhone specific.

I should have asked before but which kind of cable do i need? 6.3mm, 3.5mm & 2.5mm is about the extent of my knowledge for headphones.
For using with a Vive maybe.

You should be okay with the default 3.5mm cord because you won't need a mic. If you do need a mic for anything, look for the cord specifically for those headphones that is Android-compatible. The whole system is modular.
