    when i use google cardboard to watch a video via my iphone 6 plus, i can see the screen pixel grid and the picture is not crisp. the video is in HD and when watching it without the cardboard it is in very good quality. any help appreciated.

    Unfortunately, that's how it is with VR. That's why you need higher resolutions (at least QHD). What you saw is the so called "screen door effect". See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen-door_effect

    That's right, unless you are using a truly high end VR HMD (Head mounted display) you will see the pixels, also in the most advanced devices you are able to notice, just less.

    try android phone with 1440p screen, much better than 1080p screen on iPhone 6 plus, for vr
