Hi all, was wondering what kind of content is out there for VR. Is it primarily games and simulations (like say a roller coaster sim). Is there anything like full-length movies for VR? and is content going to continue coming out, or will all these new VR sets like Oculus and HTC Vive end up the same way 3D has (mostly inactive due to lack of content).
Right now, there are three markets. Games, Simulations (training), and Videos. Video is very popular in China and over seas (it is what has been driving Deepoon sales and Nibiru for example for a long time). All three operate separately, so it has a much higher chance of success (imagine if 3D TV's, could also have supported 3D video game consoles, and 3D computer access for learning software).
It'll be a year or two still before the content catches up fully. As for video though, you can get video apps now that are video in a fake room and play that way. It really is limited by the imagination of the developers and the accessibility of their content for the headset itself
