Samsung offers a MicroUSB cover assembly for the Gear VR2 2016 (model that comes with USB-C).

The part # is GH98-40349A .

I attached a picture of what it looks like.

I can't find the instructions online, but I believe you simply remove the USB-C module from the Gear VR then put in the MicroUSB module.

That being said, if you feel like you want to change it, here is a link for the part on eBay.
